Nick Manannikov, a recent graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, has created a dedicated Solana validator for his school through his crypto company Shark Labs. This initiative provides students with hands-on experience in running blockchain nodes. Manannikov, who fled Russia as a political refugee, developed an interest in coding and cryptocurrency, initially engaging with NFTs and then moving into running Solana RPCs and validators. After finding success in the crypto space, including a profit from a Solana NFT, he decided to fully commit to his business rather than pursue traditional college education. His company has successfully partnered with BTHS to establish a validator with approximately 15,000 staked SOL and is expanding its model by collaborating with 20 universities to set up similar validators without commission fees. Manannikov emphasizes the limitless potential in crypto for individuals who can execute their ideas, regardless of their background.
