XRP Ledger developers are challenging a recent security ranking by Kaiko which placed them last among 15 major blockchains, scoring just 41 out of 100. This ranking was influenced by the network's perceived centralization and a recent supply chain attack on its software development kit, which the developers claim did not impact the core network. Ayo Akinyele from RippleX emphasized that the XRP Ledger has maintained a strong security record over 13 years without significant incidents affecting the main network. Kaiko's evaluation included factors such as operational resilience and audit frequency, noting that XRP Ledger has fewer than 200 validator nodes compared to more decentralized networks like Solana. Despite the low score, Akinyele stressed that XRP Ledger's consensus mechanism is robust against attacks, stating that validators lack incentives to collude or censor.
