Winklevoss twins donate $21M in BTC to pro-Trump PAC ahead of US midterms
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, co-founders of Gemini, have donated over $21 million worth of Bitcoin to the Digital Freedom Fund PAC, aiming to support US President Donald Trump’s crypto agenda. The contribution, which included more than 188 BTC, is intended to influence the 2026 midterm elections and promote pro-crypto legislation. The Winklevosses expressed a desire to back Trump’s administration in its efforts relating to cryptocurrency and blockchain policy. They also backed the Fairshake PAC, which raised substantial funds to support pro-crypto congressional candidates in previous elections, highlighting their ongoing commitment to advancing crypto interests within the political arena. Following their previous support for Trump's 2024 campaign, the brothers were involved in related events and initiatives, including the signing of the GENIUS Act for stablecoins. However, there have been indications of a split regarding certain regulatory nominations, signaling a complex relationship with the Trump administration.
