Wilder World Launches First-Person Shooter Game With $100K Tournament
Wilder World has launched a 10-player shooter game mode during the Gamescom conference, introducing a free-for-all deathmatch format set in a recreated version of Miami called Wiami. This game is currently in 'super early access', with plans for a full launch of a broader metaverse in early 2026. To celebrate the launch, Wilder World is hosting a $100,000 tournament from August 25 to September 24, where five finalists will compete in person after qualifiers. Each match in the game lasts 10 minutes, and players earn points while battling. This shooter mode follows the release of Wilder Wheels, a racing game produced in collaboration with Lamborghini. The project's co-founder noted that the full game will include various experiences like racing, combat, and concerts within a player-driven economy, aiming for continuous refinement of gameplay before the complete open-world experience is unveiled.
