ECD Automotive Design, Inc. has raised $500 million to acquire and store Bitcoin in a corporate treasury. This Florida-based company, known as the largest Land Rover and Jaguar restorator, secured the funds through an equity facility with ECDA Bitcoin Treasury LLC. The financing will primarily focus on expanding its Bitcoin treasury, with some proceeds also allocated for general corporate purposes. Chief Financial Officer Ben Piggott expressed excitement about diversifying their treasury strategy with Bitcoin. The firm's foray into cryptocurrency includes a partnership with BitPay, allowing customers to make vehicle purchases using Bitcoin, incentivized by offering $21,000 credits for upgrades to the first 21 customers. ECD's initiative aligns with a growing trend of public companies incorporating Bitcoin into their balance sheets, with 243 such companies identified, a number that has increased by 13% in a month. Bitcoin's current trading price is noted at $102,961, reflecting the interests of various publicly traded businesses in cryptocurrency management.
