Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis has expressed confidence that a crypto market structure bill will be delivered to the President’s desk by the end of the year, aiming for consideration through the Senate Banking and Agriculture Committees. Speaking at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, she highlighted the urgency for the bill to pass, ideally by Thanksgiving. The proposed legislation follows the recent passage of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which received bipartisan support, and is expected to lay foundational regulations on how U.S. financial regulators, including the SEC and CFTC, will address digital assets. Lummis indicated that Republican senators are prioritizing market structure legislation while suggesting that debates over Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) might be postponed until 2026.
