Toncoin’s TON Crashes as UAE Shoots Down 'Golden Visa' for Stakers Claims
Toncoin's value dropped 5% to $2.79 after the UAE dismissed claims that staking Toncoin could qualify holders for a Golden Visa. The confusion arose after CEO Max Crown suggested that staking $100,000 in Toncoin for three years, alongside a $35,000 processing fee, would enable users to obtain the visa. This announcement, shared by Telegram founder Pavel Durov, initially drove the price of Toncoin up to $3, its highest point since June. However, regulatory authorities in the UAE quickly clarified that the Golden Visa program does not extend to digital currency investors and emphasized the importance of accurate information from official sources. Critics pointed out the lack of clear communication and cautioned against misleading claims regarding partnerships with the government.
