Streaming content creator Kitboga has successfully wasted almost 4,000 hours of scammers' time through a cleverly devised fake Bitcoin ATM scheme. Scammers often instruct victims to send money using Bitcoin ATMs, prompting Kitboga to create a receipt linked to an impossible redemption maze. Over the course of a year, about 500 scammers have been trapped in this maze for a total of 164 days and 17 hours, with the average time spent per scammer being approximately three hours. The maze features tedious CAPTCHA challenges and lengthy hold times, which distract scammers from targeting potential victims. Kitboga aims not just to waste their time but also to gather valuable information to report to law enforcement, helping to dismantle these malicious operations. Initiatives like this not only entertain but also serve as a deterrent against scams that prey on vulnerable populations.
