A YouTube and Twitch streamer, known as Kitboga, has developed a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme that has trapped scammers for nearly 4,000 hours. This method is not only aimed at wasting the time of scammers but also serves as an effective strategy for gathering intelligence about their operations. By creating a fake Bitcoin receipt linked to a non-existent exchange, scammers are tricked into spending hours navigating a site filled with tedious tasks and an unresponsive hotline. Kitboga and his team, seeking to protect potential victims from scams, have designed the maze to frustrate and occupy scam callers, allowing them to gather crucial information and help law enforcement. The scheme has reportedly ensnared around 500 scammers, with an average duration of nearly three hours spent in the maze, the longest being a staggering 156 hours. This approach not only makes it harder for scammers to target individuals but also raises awareness about such scams as Kitboga shares his experiences online, amassing millions of followers and viewers.
