Content creator Kitboga has ingeniously wasted nearly 4,000 hours of scammers' time through a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme. By creating an environment that simulates a bogus Bitcoin redemption process, scammers are ensnared in tedious tasks, miscommunications, and prolonged hold times. Kitboga's modified receipts from Bitcoin ATMs lead scammers into an elaborate maze where they encounter frustrating CAPTCHAs and must repeat nonsense phrases while on hold for hours. Over a year, his efforts have trapped around 500 scammers, accumulating almost 164 days of wasted time. This strategy not only provides entertainment but also serves a greater purpose—collecting information to aid law enforcement in catching those responsible for these scams. Kitboga has collaborated with exchanges like Kraken to track down where scammers store stolen funds, leveraging the time wasted to contribute to anti-fraud efforts in the crypto space.
