This Fake Bitcoin ATM Scheme Has Wasted 4,000 Hours of Scammers' Time
A content creator, known as Kitboga, has ingeniously trapped scammers for approximately 4,000 hours through a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme. This method involves a non-redeemable receipt leading scammers through an infinite maze filled with tedious tasks and errors, like confusing CAPTCHAs and misheard automated prompts. Kitboga and his team have fooled nearly 500 scammers into spending nearly three hours each on this wild goose chase, with one scammer stuck for 156 hours. The scheme not only wastes their time but also collects valuable information about their operations to assist law enforcement. Kitboga believes that this endeavor serves as a way to waste scammers' time to protect potential victims, especially vulnerable individuals like the elderly. This innovative strategy is now the second most effective tool he has for scambaiting and gathering intelligence to combat scams in the cryptocurrency space.
