A YouTube and Twitch streamer named Kitboga has cleverly wasted approximately 4,000 hours of scammers' time by creating an elaborate fake Bitcoin ATM scheme. Scammers, who typically instruct victims to send money via Bitcoin ATMs, are lured into an infinite maze designed by Kitboga, which includes complex CAPTCHAs and misleading automated responses. Over the course of more than a year, around 500 scammers were caught in this scheme, with the longest individual holding out for 156 hours. Kitboga's approach not only entertains but also serves as an effective means of gathering intel on scammers, which can be shared with law enforcement to help combat fraud. He combines efforts with attorneys and crypto exchanges to freeze scammer accounts and disrupt operations. His initiative arose out of a desire to protect vulnerable individuals, particularly seniors who might fall victim to such scams. Kitboga now aims to expand his methods to trap scammers using gift cards and cash schemes, furthering his mission to thwart cybercrime in creative ways.
