A content creator named Kitboga has successfully wasted nearly 4,000 hours of scammers' time using a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme designed to trap them in a complex web of tedious tasks. This innovative approach serves two main purposes: creating entertaining content and gathering actionable intelligence against malicious actors. Kitboga's team operates by posing as potential victims during scam phone calls, specifically targeting those who use Bitcoin ATMs to extract money from unsuspecting individuals. They crafted a deceptive ATM receipt linked to an infinite maze of unrelated tasks, such as humorous CAPTCHAs and misleading automated calls, causing frustration for the scammers. The longest recorded time a scammer has spent in this maze is 156 hours. Kitboga uses this strategy to help authorities by collecting identifying information from scammers and has established partnerships with organizations like Kraken to aid in freezing fraudulent cryptocurrency funds. Kitboga believes that by wasting scammers' time, he is protecting potential victims, including vulnerable individuals like the elderly, from falling prey to scams.
