This Fake Bitcoin ATM Scheme Has Wasted 4,000 Hours of Scammers' Time
A content creator known as Kitboga has devised a scheme that has trapped scammers for nearly 4,000 hours in an intricate fake Bitcoin ATM maze. This initiative serves to waste the time of scammers who attempt to defraud victims via Bitcoin ATMs. Kitboga's team, comprising 12 members, impersonates vulnerable individuals during these calls, collecting valuable information to help counteract scams. By creating a fake receipt that cannot be redeemed, scammers are lured into a labyrinth featuring tedious tasks, including CAPTCHAs and confusing automated calls, which can lead to hours of frustration. The longest recorded session lasted 156 hours. Kitboga's efforts have been so effective that they are recognized as the second-most efficient method for wasting scammers' time, surpassed only by AI-driven tools that automatically engage them. He has gained significant traction as a full-time scambaiter, educating others and raising awareness about fraud.
