A content creator, known as Kitboga, has successfully wasted nearly 4,000 hours of scammers' time through a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme. This initiative serves to both frustrate scammers and gather crucial information to help combat their operations. Kitboga's team creates a convoluted online maze that scammers navigate after they attempt to instruct victims on how to send money via Bitcoin ATMs. The maze includes tedious tasks, such as CAPTCHA challenges and long hold times filled with confusing recorded messages. The result has been the entrapment of approximately 500 scammers over 164 days, significantly hindering their ability to target victims. Kitboga uses this experience not only to entertain but also to collect intel for law enforcement to freeze scammer funds on legitimate platforms. The streamer’s unique approach has evolved over eight years, gaining a significant online following and partnership with cryptocurrency exchanges for actionable intelligence.
