A YouTube and Twitch streamer named Kitboga has cleverly thwarted scammers for nearly 4,000 hours by creating a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme. This scheme lures scammers into a convoluted process posing as a legitimate outlet for redeeming Bitcoin. Instead of genuine transactions, scammers waste their time completing tedious tasks, such as solving CAPTCHAs and being left on hold. Over a year, approximately 500 scammers have been ensnared, spending an average of three hours in this bewildering maze, with one individual lingering for 156 hours. Kitboga utilizes this method not only to create engaging content but also to gather valuable intel that can help combat scamming activities. The fake ATM receipt, designed to be unredeemable, directs scammers to an automated hotline where they face endless complications. This innovative approach is ranked second in Kitboga's arsenal of time-wasting tools, serving primarily as an effective mechanism for collecting actionable information, potentially aiding law enforcement in tracking down offenders.
