A YouTuber and Twitch streamer named Kitboga has ingeniously wasted approximately 4,000 hours of scammers' time through a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme designed to trap fraudsters into an endless loop of tasks. Scammers often instruct victims to send money via Bitcoin ATMs, leading Kitboga to create a fake receipt that links to a maze-like site with tedious challenges. Over the past year, this scheme has entangled around 500 scammers, with an average of three hours spent on the site. Some scammers have even wasted up to 156 hours trying to redeem non-existent Bitcoin. Kitboga and his team deploy various annoying tasks, like CAPTCHAs and confusion-inducing automated menus, to keep the scammers engaged while they gather intelligence to combat their actions. The methods serve not only to waste time but also to uncover crucial information, sometimes leading to the freezing of fraudulent funds held on exchanges. Kitboga's efforts stem from a personal mission to protect vulnerable individuals from scams, motivated by a past experience involving his grandparents.
