A content creator known as Kitboga has successfully wasted approximately 4,000 hours of scammers' time with a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme. This tactic involves trapping scammers in an endless loop, where they think they are getting closer to redeeming Bitcoin from victims but are instead occupied with tedious tasks. Kitboga's process includes requiring scammers to solve CAPTCHAs, navigate through fake automated calls, and remain on hold for hours. The approach serves both to waste scammers' time and gather valuable intelligence about their operations, which can be used to disrupt their activities. Kitboga explained that he developed this strategy, alongside his team, to protect vulnerable individuals and put a dent in the efforts of attackers. His initiatives have also led to the freezing of funds linked to the scammers when they provide sensitive details on these calls. Kitboga’s innovative methods have garnered a significant following for him, further empowering efforts against online scams.
