A content creator known as Kitboga has found a way to trap scammers for approximately 4,000 hours by using a fake Bitcoin ATM scheme. Scammers who attempt to solicit money from victims are directed to solve tedious tasks, such as completing CAPTCHA, while being constantly delayed and confused by automated calls. Kitboga’s fake receipt cannot be redeemed, and he often keeps scammers on hold for extended periods use ridiculous scripts, making them repeat comical phrases. This approach serves not only to waste their time but also to gather actionable intelligence that can be shared with law enforcement to combat their fraudulent activities. Kitboga, who transitioned from a software engineer to a full-time scambaiter, aims to prevent elderly individuals from falling victim to these types of scams while turning his efforts into effective entertainment and educational content.
