Strategy buys $26M Bitcoin as prices bleed on geopolitical fears
Michael Saylor’s Strategy has acquired an additional 245 Bitcoin, worth $26 million, amid concerns over geopolitical tensions that led to a decline in Bitcoin prices. The purchase was disclosed in an official filing, revealing that the average cost of these new acquisitions was $105,856 per Bitcoin, coinciding with a drop in prices from approximately $108,900 to just below $99,000 earlier in the week. Following this acquisition, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings have increased to 592,345 BTC, with a total investment of about $41.9 billion at an average price of $70,681 per coin. The new purchases have helped maintain a year-to-date BTC yield of 19.2%, slightly up from the yield announced in a previous $1 billion buy. Strategy aims for a yield goal of 25% by the end of 2025. This announcement follows Saylor's earlier announcement about his long-term BTC price prediction, which projects a potential price of $21 million in the next 21 years.
