Solana, XRP and Dogecoin ETF Approvals in 2025 Are a Near Lock, Analysts Say
Analysts from Bloomberg have expressed high confidence that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will soon approve multiple altcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including those for Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin. Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart predict a nearly 100% chance of approval for these ETFs by the end of 2025. Other altcoins like Litecoin, Cardano, and Polkadot are also expected to receive favorable decisions soon. Currently, only Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs have been approved, but the anticipated approvals would allow traditional investors to gain direct exposure to these lower-value and historically volatile cryptocurrencies. The SEC's recent engagement with ETF applications signifies a positive trend. The anticipated market shift could dramatically impact the prices of these altcoins, similar to the substantial price increase of Bitcoin following the approval of its spot ETF in 2023. Additionally, the SEC's openness to new proposals may be fueled by recent CFTC approvals of futures markets for these assets. Overall, the forthcoming approvals would represent a significant milestone in making cryptocurrency investments mainstream.
