SharpLink Gaming has appointed Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, as co-CEO. Chalom, who played a crucial role in launching BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, expressed his enthusiasm for joining SharpLink, emphasizing his belief that Ethereum will become the foundation of global finance. With Chalom on board, current CEO Rob Phythian will transition to the role of president. SharpLink aims to add shareholder value by utilizing Ethereum through staking and yield-bearing strategies. The company recently increased its ETH holdings, acquiring nearly 80,000 ETH valued at over $1.3 billion. Despite Chalom's significant background, SharpLink's shares have dropped over 6% on the day, highlighting market volatility. The firm plans to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to fuel further Ethereum purchases as it expands its treasury and mission in the digital asset space.
