Joseph Chalom, BlackRock's former head of digital assets strategy, has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom was integral in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and brings over 20 years of experience in the financial sector. He expressed enthusiasm for SharpLink’s vision, focusing on Ethereum as a foundational element of global finance. As Chalom transitions into his new role, current CEO Rob Phythian will shift to the position of president. SharpLink aims to enhance shareholder value using its Ethereum treasury through various yield-generating strategies. The firm holds over 360,000 ETH valued at more than $1.3 billion and plans to raise up to $6 billion to further expand its ETH holdings. Meanwhile, despite Chalom's appointment, shares of SharpLink Gaming saw a drop of over 6%, reflecting broader market trends.
