Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, is joining SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom played a significant role in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and will transition SharpLink's current CEO, Rob Phythian, into the role of president. Chalom’s expertise is expected to strengthen SharpLink's operations, which focus on utilizing Ethereum as a productive asset through various yield-generating strategies. The company holds over 360,000 ETH valued at more than $1.3 billion and intends to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to expand its Ethereum treasury further. Despite this promising leadership change, shares of SharpLink fell over 6% on the announcement day. Chalom expressed his belief in Ethereum's potential to transform global finance, emphasizing the firm's commitment to bridging institutional capital with Ethereum-native yield.
