SharpLink Nabs BlackRock Exec Who Helped Launch Bitcoin, Ethereum ETFs
SharpLink Gaming has announced the appointment of Joseph Chalom as co-CEO. Chalom, who previously led BlackRock's digital assets strategy and played a crucial role in launching the firm's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, expressed his enthusiasm for joining SharpLink, emphasizing his belief in Ethereum's potential as a foundation for global finance. With this transition, the current CEO Rob Phythian will take on the role of president. Chalom's experience is expected to enhance SharpLink's ongoing strategy of utilizing Ethereum effectively through staking and yield-bearing strategies. The company has recently expanded its Ethereum treasury, holding over 360,000 ETH valued at more than $1.3 billion and aims to raise up to $6 billion to purchase more ETH. Shares of SharpLink have seen a decline of over 6% following the announcement, which indicates a turbulent market response but also highlights the significant attention around Ethereum and institutional adoption.
