Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. His tenure at BlackRock included the successful launch of the world’s largest Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. Chalom stated that he shares SharpLink's vision that Ethereum will become the foundation of global finance. SharpLink, which holds over 360,000 ETH valued at approximately $1.3 billion, aims to leverage Ethereum for productive asset strategies including staking and yield generation. This strategic addition is seen as a validation of SharpLink’s treasury approach. Following Chalom's transition, existing CEO Rob Phythian will shift to the role of president. Despite this leadership change, shares of SharpLink Gaming experienced a downturn, dropping more than 6% as Chalom takes on his new role.
