Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom played a key role in launching BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and will transition the current CEO, Rob Phythian, into the role of president. Chalom emphasizes his belief in Ethereum's potential to underpin global finance, marking a significant shift as he takes on this new position. SharpLink aims to enhance shareholder value by utilizing its treasuries, which include more than 360,000 ETH valued at over $1.3 billion, through staking and other yield-generating strategies. The company plans to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to further acquire ETH. Meanwhile, BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust has recently surpassed $10 billion in assets, reflecting strong investor interest in Ethereum and positioning the asset as increasingly important in the digital economy.
