Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, has joined SharpLink Gaming as its co-CEO. Chalom played a pivotal role in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and led the company’s strategy on digital assets. In a statement, he expressed excitement about joining SharpLink, emphasizing the potential of Ethereum in becoming a cornerstone of global finance. Following his arrival, the current CEO, Rob Phythian, will transition to the role of president. SharpLink's chairman, Joseph Lubin, commented on Chalom's impactful experience, which he noted validates the company’s vision for Ethereum and their strategy involving Ethereum treasury management. SharpLink recently expanded its treasury to over 360,000 ETH, valued at more than $1.3 billion, using proceeds from a stock sale to fuel further ETH acquisitions.
