Former BlackRock executive Joseph Chalom has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO, marking a significant shift in his career after 20 years at the financial giant. At BlackRock, Chalom was instrumental in launching their Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and leading the firm’s digital assets strategy. He emphasized his belief in Ethereum's potential to transform global finance, aligning with SharpLink’s focus on utilizing Ethereum as a productive asset for their treasury management. SharpLink Gaming, which holds more than 360,000 ETH valued over $1.3 billion, has recently acquired additional ETH and plans to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to further enhance their treasury. Chalom’s addition is seen as a vote of confidence in SharpLink's strategy and their ambitions in the digital asset space, despite the company’s shares experiencing a decline of over 6% on the day following this announcement.
