Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, is joining SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom played a pivotal role in launching BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. Following Chalom's appointment, Rob Phythian will transition from SharpLink’s CEO to president. SharpLink aims to enhance shareholder value by leveraging Ethereum through various yield-generating strategies, holding over 360,000 ETH worth more than $1.3 billion and planning to raise up to $6 billion to increase its ETH treasury. Today, SharpLink shares fell over 6%, continuing a trend of more than 31% decline over the last five days. Chalom emphasized the firm's mission to connect institutional capital with Ethereum-driven yields, with their asset being ETH and their ticker SBET. This strategic move positions SharpLink as a significant player in the growing intersection of traditional finance and the digital asset space.
