Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, is joining SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom played a significant role in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and has been pivotal in the firm's strategy on digital assets. He expressed enthusiasm for SharpLink's mission to leverage Ethereum as a foundation for global finance. Alongside this transition, SharpLink's current CEO, Rob Phythian, will move into a president role. The firm aims to enhance shareholder value by employing Ethereum as a productive asset through staking and other yield-bearing strategies. SharpLink holds more than 360,000 ETH, valued over $1.3 billion, and recently acquired nearly 80,000 ETH to strengthen its treasury. The firm has plans to raise up to $6 billion through stock sales to boost ETH purchases, underlining its commitment to Ethereum amidst growing institutional interest and investor appetite for the asset.
