Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom was instrumental in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and led the firm's strategy in digital assets. In his announcement, Chalom expressed his belief in Ethereum's potential to become the foundation of global finance. Rob Phythian, the current CEO of SharpLink, will transition to the role of president. SharpLink is focused on utilizing Ethereum as a productive asset, planning to raise up to $6 billion for further ETH purchases. Currently, the firm holds over 360,000 ETH valued at more than $1.3 billion and acquired nearly 80,000 ETH recently as part of its treasury-building efforts. However, shares of SharpLink have experienced a decline of more than 6% in value recently, continuing a downward trend over the past five days.
