Joseph Chalom, previously the head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom was instrumental in the launch of BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. His transition marks a significant move as he aims to leverage SharpLink's vision of utilizing Ethereum as a foundation for global finance. Under his leadership, SharpLink intends to enhance shareholder value by implementing yield-bearing strategies that involve staking and restaking ETH. The company currently manages an ETH treasury exceeding 360,000 ETH, valued at over $1.3 billion. However, the announcement coincided with a drop in SharpLink's stock, which fell over 6% the same day. Chalom’s decision is viewed as a validation of the firm’s strategy in integrating Ethereum into mainstream finance, with hopes to bridge institutional investments into Ethereum-native yields.
