SharpLink Gaming has announced that Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, will join the company as co-CEO. Chalom played a pivotal role in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and is recognized for his contributions to the institution’s digital asset strategy. In his move to SharpLink, he expressed a strong belief in Ethereum's potential to transform global finance. Following his joining, current CEO Rob Phythian will transition to the role of president. SharpLink is focused on adding value to its shareholders by utilizing Ethereum as a productive asset through various yield-bearing strategies. The company currently holds over 360,000 ETH, valued at more than $1.3 billion, and plans to raise up to $6 billion to further increase its treasury. SharpLink's stock saw a significant drop, declining over 6% to $21.89 shortly after this announcement, reflecting potential market concerns despite the strategic move to enhance the company's capabilities in the Ethereum space.
