Joseph Chalom, former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom played a key role in launching BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and will focus on enhancing SharpLink's ETH treasury strategy, which is believed to be central to the future of global finance. Current CEO Rob Phythian will transition to the role of president. SharpLink holds over 360,000 ETH valued at more than $1.3 billion and aims to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to acquire more Ethereum. Chalom's transition is seen as a significant move to bridge institutional capital with Ethereum-native yield. Despite the potential, SharpLink's shares have dropped over 6% on the announcement day, continuing a trend of over 31% losses in the past five days. This strategic shift underscores a growing trend of institutional interest in cryptocurrencies, specifically within the Ethereum ecosystem.
