SharpLink Gaming has announced that Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, will join as co-CEO. Chalom played a significant role in launching BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. With two decades of experience at BlackRock, he aims to transition SharpLink into a leading Ethereum treasury company. Chalom expressed confidence in Ethereum's potential to reshape global finance, and SharpLink's current CEO, Rob Phythian, will become president as part of this transition. SharpLink holds over 360,000 ETH, valued at more than $1.3 billion, and aims to enhance its asset value via staking and other yield strategies. The firm plans to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to fund further ETH acquisitions. Following this news, SharpLink’s stock price dropped over 6% in a single day, reflecting market volatility around the announcement. The Ethereum ETFs launched by BlackRock have shown significant market performance, with the iShares Ethereum Trust reaching over $10 billion in assets shortly after its launch.
