SharpLink Gaming has appointed Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, as its co-CEO. Chalom was instrumental in launching BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and will now lead the Ethereum treasury company. He expressed enthusiasm for SharpLink's belief in Ethereum as a foundational element for global finance. With Chalom’s arrival, Rob Phythian, the current CEO, will transition to the role of president. SharpLink aims to leverage Ethereum for long-term shareholder value through staking and yield strategies. The firm recently acquired nearly 80,000 ETH and plans to raise up to $6 billion via a stock sale aimed at bolstering its ETH holdings. Despite this strategic expansion, SharpLink's stock has fallen over 6% on the announcement day, continuing a trend of over 31% loss in the past week. Chalom's move is seen as a significant endorsement of SharpLink's vision.
