Joseph Chalom, formerly the head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Known for his role in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, Chalom is set to bring his expertise to the Ethereum treasury company. With 20 years at BlackRock, including spearheading its entry into digital assets, he expressed enthusiasm for SharpLink's vision that Ethereum will become integral to global finance. Chalom's transition means current CEO Rob Phythian will become president. SharpLink Gaming aims to leverage Ethereum for generating shareholder value, holding over 360,000 ETH valued at roughly $1.3 billion. The company recently acquired nearly 80,000 ETH and plans to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to enhance its treasury. This follows BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF reaching a record $10 billion in assets, indicating strong investor interest in Ethereum. Shares of SharpLink have seen over a 6% decrease on the day as they undergo this transition.
