SharpLink Nabs BlackRock Exec Who Helped Launch Bitcoin, Ethereum ETFs
Joseph Chalom, formerly BlackRock's head of digital assets strategy, has joined SharpLink Gaming as co-CEO. Chalom was instrumental in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and has a strong background in digital assets. He emphasized his belief that Ethereum will provide a robust foundation for global finance. Current SharpLink CEO Rob Phythian will transition to the role of president as Chalom takes on his new responsibilities. SharpLink currently holds over 360,000 ETH, valued at more than $1.3 billion, and aims to utilize Ethereum for staking and yield-generating strategies. Recently, the company acquired 80,000 ETH to bolster its treasury and is planning to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale to facilitate further ETH purchases. Meanwhile, BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF has rapidly gained popularity, surpassing $10 billion in assets in record time, indicating a growing interest in Ethereum among investors.
