SharpLink Gaming has announced that Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, is joining the firm as co-CEO. Chalom was instrumental in the launch of BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and has been a prominent figure in the institutional adoption of digital assets. He expressed enthusiasm for SharpLink's strategy centered on Ethereum, stating a belief in its growing importance in global finance. With Chalom's addition, SharpLink aims to further enhance its Ethereum treasury strategy, which includes holding over 360,000 ETH valued at more than $1.3 billion. Current CEO Rob Phythian will transition to the role of president as part of this restructuring. Following the announcement, shares of SharpLink fell over 6%, reflecting market apprehension despite the strategic appointment and long-term plans to drive shareholder value through Ethereum-based yield generation.
