SharpLink Gaming has announced that Joseph Chalom, former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, is joining the company as co-CEO. Chalom played a pivotal role in launching BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and plans to leverage his expertise to advance SharpLink's Ethereum treasury strategy. He expressed confidence in Ethereum's potential to reshape global finance. Current CEO Rob Phythian will transition to the role of president. SharpLink, which holds over 360,000 ETH valued at over $1.3 billion, aims to increase its treasury through additional ETH purchases and has recently detailed a plan to raise up to $6 billion via a stock sale. Chalom emphasized the importance of institutional capital access to Ethereum-native yield through public equity via SharpLink's offerings. SharpLink's shares experienced a decline of over 6% following the announcement.
