SharpLink Gaming has appointed Joseph Chalom, the former head of digital assets strategy at BlackRock, as its co-CEO. Chalom, who played a key role in launching both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs at BlackRock, expressed his excitement about joining SharpLink, emphasizing the company's belief in Ethereum as the foundation of global finance. Following this leadership change, current CEO Rob Phythian will transition to the role of president. With Chalom's experience in unlocking institutional adoption of digital assets, SharpLink aims to enhance shareholder value by utilizing Ethereum as a productive asset through various yield-bearing strategies. The company holds over 360,000 ETH, valued at more than $1.3 billion, and recently acquired nearly 80,000 ETH while planning to raise up to $6 billion through a stock sale. The news has impacted SharpLink’s stock price, which has seen a decline of over 6% within the day.
