SharpLink Gaming has announced the appointment of Joseph Chalom, a former digital assets executive at BlackRock, as its co-CEO. Chalom is known for his pivotal role in launching BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs and will now lead SharpLink’s Ethereum treasury strategy. He expressed his belief in Ethereum becoming a cornerstone of global finance, echoing the company’s mission to leverage Ethereum through staking and other yield-bearing strategies. Following Chalom's transition, existing CEO Rob Phythian will take on the role of president. SharpLink currently holds over 360,000 ETH valued at more than $1.3 billion and intends to raise up to $6 billion via a stock sale to enhance its Ethereum treasury. This leadership change comes as SharpLink aims to generate shareholder value and reinforce its position as a significant player in the Ethereum ecosystem.
