SharpLink has appointed former BlackRock senior executive Joseph Chalom as co-CEO, following competitor BitMine's announcement of a $2 billion Ether acquisition. Chalom, with two decades of experience at BlackRock, will focus on shaping SharpLink's strategy in public markets and Ethereum-based digital infrastructure. His hiring underscores Sharplink's commitment to the Ethereum ecosystem, aligning with BlackRock's successful launch of the iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) that surpassed $10 billion in assets. Just a day before this announcement, BitMine revealed it has acquired over $2 billion worth of ETH, surpassing SharpLink’s existing holdings of 360,807 ETH. This move intensifies the competition between SharpLink and BitMine, with both firms vying for dominance in Ethereum treasury assets.
