The CRE serves as an operating system for the Chainlink network, simplifying the management of complex interconnected systems and enabling easier integration with traditional financial systems and legacy institutions. Developers can write in various programming languages, with Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network managing all interactions with the blockchain and external data sources. Nazarov highlighted that the CRE orchestrates these actions, ensuring consensus and returning results to smart contracts regardless of their blockchain location. This architecture accommodates multiple chains and supports confidential computing and zero-knowledge proofs, enhancing the blockchain's capabilities.
