SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce will lead a tour across 10 US cities as part of the SEC's new crypto outreach initiative. This series aims to gather feedback from stakeholders, developers, and investors regarding future digital asset regulations. The discussions will primarily focus on crypto startups that are less than two years old and have 10 or fewer employees. Scheduled between August and December, these roundtables are designed to ensure comprehensive outreach before establishing any regulatory framework. The SEC has previously engaged with major industry players, including a16z Crypto and BlackRock, discussing topics such as regulation and decentralized finance. The SEC's changing stance towards the crypto industry appears more positive under the current administration, despite a historically antagonistic relationship. This outreach comes following President Trump’s advocated initiatives aimed at integrating crypto into broader financial regulations, demonstrating increased governmental engagement in the sector.
