Satoshi-era Bitcoin Whale Shifts Last Of Stack To Galaxy Digital
A Satoshi-era Bitcoin whale has moved 40,192 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $4.77 billion, to Galaxy Digital, following a prior transfer of 40,009 BTC. Over the last four days, this whale has transferred a total of 80,201 Bitcoin worth around $9.6 billion. The increases in Bitcoin value, which crossed $122,000 briefly, have led to speculation that the whale might be securing significant profits after 14 years of holding. Kadan Stadelmann from Komodo Platform suggests the whale may be pursuing stability or planning to venture into new projects. There are varied opinions on the whale's motivations, with some believing that it could also be a strategic move for securing their holdings amidst regulatory pressures or the shifting landscape of cryptocurrency. Though the whale previously moved BTC to exchanges, which raised sell-off concerns, analysts like Stadelmann believe this could be part of a reassessment of their wallet strategy or investments in new ventures. Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, maintains around 1.096 million Bitcoin, making him one of the wealthiest individuals based on Bitcoin holdings.
