Satoshi-era Bitcoin Whale Shifts Last Of Stack To Galaxy Digital
A Satoshi-era Bitcoin whale has transferred its remaining 40,192 BTC, valued at approximately $4.77 billion, to Galaxy Digital, following a prior movement of another 40,009 BTC. This brings the total amount shifted to Galaxy Digital in just four days to 80,201 BTC, worth $9.6 billion at current prices. Kadan Stadelmann, CTO of Komodo Platform, speculated that the whale may be looking to secure impressive profits after holding the Bitcoin for over 14 years, especially as Bitcoin recently surged above $122,000. While some had suspected a potential sell-off, Stadelmann noted that the whale might be reorganizing its holdings or using Galaxy Digital as an intermediary to distribute Bitcoin to smaller wallets. The whale's movements suggest a strategy focused on stability and possibly funding future ventures that align with the cryptocurrency ethos. Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, remains the largest holder with over 1 million BTC, equating to a net worth that positions them among the richest individuals globally.
