The Qubic community, an AI-focused blockchain project, has voted to target the Dogecoin network following a recent 51% attack on Monero. Sergey Ivancheglo, the founder of Qubic, posed the question to the community regarding which proof-of-work blockchain to target, with Dogecoin, Zcash, and Kaspa as options. Dogecoin won decisively with over 300 votes. The Qubic network's recent takeover of Monero's computing power by gaining majority control has raised concerns within the crypto community, as it highlights potential vulnerabilities of proof-of-work blockchains. Following the takeover, a crypto exchange temporarily paused deposits for Monero, citing risks to network integrity but allowed withdrawals and trading to continue. The Qubic team stated that Monero's core functionality remains unaffected despite the attack, emphasizing their intent to enhance security through their miners.
