Crypto entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano has raised $750 million to go public with his crypto firm ProCap by merging with Columbus Circle Capital Corp, a blank-check firm. After the merger, the combined entity will operate as ProCap Financial Inc., with a projected balance sheet that includes $1 billion in Bitcoin. Pompliano aims for ProCap Financial to focus on acquiring Bitcoin while also developing revenue-generating products and services based on its Bitcoin holdings. The funding raise includes $516.5 million in equity and $235 million in convertible notes, supported by notable investors in the crypto space. With plans to hold approximately $1 billion in Bitcoin, ProCap would rank among the top public companies by Bitcoin holdings, following firms like MicroStrategy. Other crypto firms are also pursuing public offerings through SPACs, hoping to leverage the current market interest in crypto-related assets after notable IPO successes, such as Circle Internet Group.
